A Lancaster sun cream is a sun care essential for face and body. At least that’s the way it is for fair to medium skin. The products are so up to expectations with consistent technologic improvements, that I have been repurchasing for years.
LANCASTER SUN BEAUTY review
I favour lotions over oils and gel, I find them more smoothing (I use oils for hair protection though).
The Sun Beauty range offers several similar lotion suncare products.
LANCASTER VELVET MILK spf30
I usually start with Lancaster velvet milk spf30 or higher because I need all over full protection. I pick the big bottles which are very convenient and go a long way.
After a few days I switch to decreasing but mixed spf products, because… I want to actually get some tan.
LANCASTER SILKY MILK FAST TAN OPTIMIZER spf15
It’s a medium lightweight but very hydrating lotion. Not too heavy, no white patina on the skin (hence you look good on the beach).
Yes you have to reapply every couple of hours but it makes my skin seriously velvety, soft and gives a beautiful golden tan while reacting pretty well to a few dips in the water.
It never ever caused me eritema or allergies, doesn’t smell bad, and it has uva+uvb+infrared protection. It’s just right.
LANCASTER VELVET TOUCH CREAM RADIANT TAN
This spf 15 or spf30 Lancaster sun cream for face feels a tad thicker and heavyer on the skin (only downside). It’s a face sun product but I also use it on sensitive areas needing extra care.
It bears otherwise the same qualities as the aforementioned lotions.
Note: these sunscreens are not for the city. They are meant to be used without other skin makeup products on top (mascara and lipstick don’t count).
LANCASTER SPORT SUN review
LANCASTER INVISIBLE MIST
These products aren’t exclusively for when I will spend a lot of time in the water.
I also use these spray in synergy with Lancaster sun cream products either on areas needing a stronger longer lasting protection or when I won’t be able to reapply that frequently. Last but not least they are a godsent for my back since it’s spray that I can apply myself.
These Lancaster Sport Sun products are real sport sun protection workhorses.
Both spf 50 or spf30 and spf15 are equally sturdy and not greasy at all (beware, men steal these). They set and wanish but the protection is stuck to your skin (hello snorkeling, and watersports).
They may be less hydrating than a lotion but they kind of seal in your existing hydration. Beware, these spray sunscreens are totally addictive.
Downside: I always get multiple bottles since I easily get to the end of these products way before the others, which makes it very expensive. But it’s such a problem solver! I love it sooo much that I keep on repurchasing again and again and again.
Note: it’s adviseable not to use these spray on your face. If the product runs in your eyes it burns like crazy.
