Rouge lip lacquer, vinyl finish with long lasting staying power of matte lip colors?
Vampy lipsticks and red lipsticks are the unskippable makeup trend for fall 2015, and fashion 2016 fashion shows highlighted that lips are, indeed, the growing makeup craze. Giorgio Armani makeup just launched a new liquid lip color with the consistance and feel of the lipgloss, a strong shiny vinyl effect and (thank you technology) the strength of a long staying power matte lipstick. The product is quite unique, crazy cool I would say (not just not your usual lipgloss with marketing) and I feel it deserves a good deal of attention to describe its (many) strong points and its (little) downsides so that you can make your choice.
Giorgio armani Ecstasy lacquer comes in a wide range of pinks oranges, reds and vampy colors. While being initially disappointed by the lack of neutral shades, I understood upon trial of the product that this super saturated formula is primarly meant to be for strong pigments. That’s what this new makeup technology primarly is about, so the huge neutral lipstick trend can be covered by other finishes (soon a top 10 choice on the blog).

That color with that finish is a-ma-zing. I can totally see why they picked it up for the advertising campaign because if you already own a 100 red lipsticks (me?) you will feel that you need for this one just because of the unique deepnes that the vinyl effect gives to an already outstandingly pigmented formula.

This one is probably the bestseller and there is a reason. Ecstasy lacquer formula is buildable so you can go from a vampy veil that will stay put on your lips (if you are willing to give up on the shine) and build it to a dark red lipstick with pink undertones that goes as vampy and as dark as you want depending on how much color you layer. It’s universally flattering and kind of allows you to play with the formula and the vampy lipstick concept just like any long staying power lipstick formula plus the bonus of a vinyl finish effect if you add the appropriate amount of product.

If you don’t mind bold lips, like vampy shades, and want to look different from anybody else, this is the color to go for. You will feel like you’re walking in an Armani fashion show this is the one. It’s very dark but not black, meant to be worn as the statement piece in your outfit (yes) that can either match the lips mood or simply be… very simple since this listick will make modern any plain other wise boring outfit even more than other vampy lipsticks. In my opinion this vampy lipstick should be worn with uniform skin (think contouring and sculpting without too much color) and eyes simply defined by a double coat of mascara and
Veryverve makeup tip:
Vampy vinyl wet effect shades are totally totally underrated. Everybody raves about the matte effect vampy lips for fall, and I totally agree, but this new opportunity has absolutely nothing to do with old dreaded pearly shades and the final wet like effect is crazy modern. Great new option I say.
