Helmut Lang dress with a view on Soho (guests Hermès CDC blacelet and Tom Ford for Yves Saint Laurent shoes).

New York, Soho and those beautiful buildings.
Having a drink in front of the window,
wearing Helmut Lang asymmetrical jersey draped dress (get it here and here)
a nice relaxed break while watching life going on on the streets.

Truth be told, the reason for the sparkling mineral water bottle is that I have had too many hamburgers/fries/pies/cupcakes/cheese and who knows what else, and that they made me sick because I have otherwise been eating sooo clean lately. I am just NOT used to all this anymore.
Hey but I had a blast!
Pfff , I absolutely hate having to eat super clean chicken breasts, salads and grilled fish, but sometimes your body needs it.
Mmm...
TMI?
Yes, but the piggy inside me just probably wanted to share that aaahhh this well deserved food break has been sooo good !

Back to the dress now.

People usually either love or hate Helmut Lang asymmetrical creations, I personally think the cuts are genious.

His pieces often go from day to night, which I especially appreciate, and this dress especially fits the bill.

My overall opinion?
Helmut Lang jersey dresses are sexy, you can dress them up or down, they stretch if you have a too abundant dinner (ops), and they don't take up too much space so they are easy to pack or bring with you in a tote if you need a change after your workday, aaand they don't show wrinkles because they stretch.
What else?
Oh yes, did I mention that they are... sexy?

So I love them.
And I find them very practical.

Just one little tip: if you are a little bit of a perfectionist like I am, try to get a back view and look at yourself "down there" when you try jersey dresses on.
The reason is that some styles are more flattering than others, depending on your body type (ahemmm read bum shape), and the size also makes some difference, so just take a mirror, have a look at your bum, and no worries, there HAS to be one Helmut Lang style/size that fits you, I have many friends with several different body types who wear and love those dresses.

The bracelet I am wearing is my Hermès Collier De Chien (CDC) in Lizard Natural Ombré, with palladium hardware.

The nail polish is Stone Cold from the Hunger Games collection by China Glaze
It dries like a very cool matte slate grey but the color is not very true to reality in this picture, it is darker and more matte in real life.

P.S: more of my outfit pictures taken in New York here.

The funny pumps are Yves Saint Laurent from the Tom Ford (genius) era. Plexi transparent heel and patent finger nails applied on the toes.

Anatomy of the Helmut Lang asymmetrical dress. Isn't it funny how the weird cuts of these dresses end up being sooo flattering on the body?

    1. Thank you. Jersey is a great material that does wonders for fit when it is worked properly. A great design also makes a big difference.
